Humminbird 778C Fishfinder

Made by: Humminbird
Rating:
Average price: over $300

Another one of the new fishfinders that Humminbird released for 2011 is the 778C high definition fishfinder.

The major selling point of the 778C is that Humminbird is including the brand new high definition screens for this model. You’ll find that it has a very crisp 256 color display with a very generous 640 by 640 pixel display for spotting fish. This is over twice the amount of pixels that other comparable models have.

In order to provide enough detail for such a good screen Humminbird has made the transducer on the 778c operate at a very respectful 500 W of RMS power. It can peek at 4000 watts which allows you to see down a depth of 1500 feet.

Other than that, this model shares many of the other features of the 700 series. You can hook it up to an optional GPS, downrigger controller, or even whether modules. It supports the high speed Ethernet connections found on many high-end marine electronics from Humminbird.
